Words of wisdom all around, but no one ever seems to listen,
They keep talking about the plans on the paper, building up from the pavement,
The shadows from the scrappers on the pavement...
It’s enough to make me sigh, but that don’t seem to make it feel better,
The words are all around, but the words are only sound when no one ever seems to listen...

I’ve been putting up my thoughts on this blog for a while now... There are times when I sit back and feel it is pointless, like many people would think it to be. But, the truth is, it isn’t as pointless as it appears to be... I use this blog, mostly, to inspire those who are close to me. To me, “Tao” is inspiration – a desire to be something better than what you already are... And the day when you’re finally content to be exactly where you are – that is the fulfilment of life’s purpose...
I seek inspiration just like many who are close to me... A dream of being ‘just a bit’ better than what we already are. The word “dream” has become corrupted by people seeking ‘progress’ in their society or career or whatever. I’m not talking about that progress here... I’m not talking about a person’s ‘dream’ of being a CEO – or a person’s dream of being on Oprah... Such dreams mean nothing, because they can be achieved. I’m talking about a dream that doesn’t need to be achieved... A dream that is already around you – you just to figure out what direction it is coming from this morning, just so that you can open your eyes to it...
There’s a difference between being content and not seeking... It’s a thin line – but it does exist. So, the next time you really want to know someone, ask them this... “What is your dream?”
If a 40 year old top-level manager tells you “I dream of being a Barista in a coffeehouse that is the ‘best kept secret’ in a small town” – that’s a dream... The coffee beans he roasts, and the coffee he brews, will have something special to say...
Ask them - “What inspires you?”
If the answer is heavy and big – that’s not really an inspiration. But, if the answer is as simple and small as “the sound of Jack Johnson’s traffic in the sky” – that’s something.
I’ll end with a word from Khytnse Norbu’s movie, that inspired me –
“You’re so bad at business, you’ll make a real good monk...”
